Sunny Days

The past two days have been so cold, that we had to take out the heavy winter jackets again!
Looked at this picture of our recent trip to Florida taken on our way to Magic Kingdom.
Reassured myself that in a few days, the jackets can be kept back and the T-shirts taken out.
Sun, please shine on us....

Bliss in a Bowl

After several attempts, finally succeeded in making homemade yogurt. It's a world of difference when you compare it to the yogurt from the store. It may not look like the branded one but makes up a million times as far as the flavor goes. Am so glad I decided to make yogurt at home.

On a Whim

I saw this jewelry organizer in Home Goods and fell in love with it so much, that I just had to buy it! 

For some strange reason, after I got it home, I realized the folly of buying something on a whim! It just does not speak to me anymore..Now, I wonder what made me love it in the first place.

Baby Boy Cake

One of my friends delivered a baby boy recently. Here's a cake I baked and frosted today welcoming him!
I know, am not the best at frosting, but I always believe something handmade, even if not perfect is so much better than store bought...

On my Bookshelf

Had to force myself to stop reading today. The Help has been one of my best books in a long time. I finally finished it and am going to take a break. I get too emotionally involved with my books and it usually takes me a few days to break out from the story.
Am looking  forward to my next book - Sarah's Key.

Green Glory

After this in New Jersey, the green in Florida was such a refreshing change.
For four days, we just soaked up the sun as much as we could.

Cart Mayhem

This cart right here causes a lot of trouble every time I go to the grocery store with the kids.
The kids insist on riding one and if its a weekend, mayhem would be a light word to use.
I find it hard to maneuver this cart especially when there's lot of other shoppers.
Added to that, I have to keep my eyes open for mischievous little E who likes to sweep the floor with his bare hands as the cart moves.

Cocoa Fix

Little J is a serious chocoholic..No milk chocolate for her.
She likes the really dark kind with no dairy to soften the punch.
As her mom, am always confused. Don't most 4 year olds like milky chocolate?
She bluntly refuses each time I offer her anything to go with her dark chocolate.
Here is a very decadent dark chocolate brownie I made for her, and yes, she loved it.

The Body Shop & me

I absolutely love Body Shop products..
I've been using this intense moisturizer for years now. Last week, on one of my visits to their store, was dismayed to find that they've discontinued this particular product. Am down to my last tub and and am not sure what to use anymore. Any suggestions?

Money in the trash?

I never used to give coupons in the mail a second glance until I saw the show on Extreme Couponers.
Wow! Am not sure what to think. That show made me realize that if I was organized with coupons, then we could save a ton of money. But then again, I don't think I could ever be that organized.
Now, out of some sense of guilt, I at least open it before I throw it in the trash.   

Teething troubles

This is J's bike seat and the rips you see on them are caused by little E at the peak of his teething troubles..
I like to imagine that he chewed it and then like a good little boy, spat it out from his mouth, knowing that his mom would never approve of his eating plastic or foam.
J insists as the sole witness to the crime that he ate it all up.So much for my wishful thinking!
The good news is that its been three months and nothing drastic happened. Since then, he has chewed many other things.

What better way to start my blog than with my seed starter. So excited about my first veggie garden.
